Grant impact briefing pack
A numbered set of figures, captions, and a short briefing note prepared for a named funder deadline, drawn from your monitoring tables and work-package notes.
Who it is for
Principal investigators, programme managers, and evaluation leads in UK universities, research charities, and public-body funded consortia who must submit an impact or outcomes annex.
What you take away
A print-ready and PDF briefing pack: typically eight to fourteen figures with captions that stay inside the evidence, a two-page reading note for trustees or a panel, and a source table so every claim can be traced back to a monitoring row.
Who prepares it
Prepared by a Service Trailline draughtsperson with a named reviewer who checks captions against the source table. Work is commissioned as a professional drawing and writing job, not as access to software.
Included
- Kick-off call to fix the funder template, page limits, and claims you are willing to stand behind
- Review of your existing monitoring workbook, work-package summaries, and previous report figures
- Draft figure list mapped to the funder’s headings (outputs, outcomes, reach, learning)
- Full figure set with accessible colour, labelled axes, and captions written in plain English
- Two revision rounds after comments from the PI or evaluation lead
- Handover folder: PDF pack, individual figure files, caption sheet, and source table
Not included
- Primary data collection, surveys, or interviews
- Statistical modelling or new analysis beyond summarising tables you already hold
- Ghost-writing the full narrative report (we draft figure captions and the short briefing note only)
- Unlimited redesign after the second revision round
How the work proceeds
- You send the funder guidance, last report, and the monitoring export you actually use.
- We return a figure list and a claim register: what the evidence supports, what it does not.
- Draft figures go to the PI for factual correction before visual polish.
- Final pack is delivered in time for internal sign-off, usually five working days before your submission date if we start on the agreed week.
Where we work
Remote across the United Kingdom, with an optional half-day working session in Huthwaite or at your campus if the figure list is still disputed.
What to prepare
Please have a single monitoring workbook (Excel or similar), the funder’s reporting template or page limit, and one person who can answer questions on definitions (cohort, beneficiary, output).
Limits we keep
We will not draw a trend the table does not contain. If a work package has no outcome measure, that figure is omitted rather than invented. Colour-blind safe palettes are used unless the funder mandates a house palette that fails contrast checks — in that case we document the exception.
Fees
Starting at £2,400 for a single programme with one funder template and up to twelve figures. Extra work packages, bilingual captions, or a rushed two-week window are quoted separately.
Next step. Write to us with the funder name, submission date, and how many work packages sit in the report. We reply with a scoped estimate.
